Antique Heirloom Day
In 2007, 2009, and 2011 the Mulgrave & Derry Historical Society
hosted an Antique Heirloom Day at the parsonage of St. Matthew Lutheran
Church, Inlet, Quebec. The idea behind this event was to have a
display of heirlooms from original settlers of the area. The parsonage
inside was decorated beautifully with a variety of heirlooms, which
included glass, china, crystal, oil lamps and much more. Outside
there was a new and used book sale. Outside exhibits included farm
implements and wood working tools. Probably the most successful
event of the day was the appraisal of items conducted by Len Depuis
. Many brought their cherished items for appraisal and left realizing
that they were the owners of valuable possessions. Others were told
what their item would have been used for. A huge thanks to Len who
captivated everyone’s attention. The entire event was enjoyed
by many right down to the sausages, hot dogs and home made dessert.
